About Us

We are a small village school, with strong links to the Church and local community, set in the heart of the village of Checkley. All our staff work together to create a happy, friendly and caring school for children from three to nine years of age.

Hutchinson Memorial School is part of the Lichfield Diocese and works closely with the Uttoxeter Pyramid of Schools and in particular Windsor Park Middle School to ensure a smooth transition at the end of Y4.

All our children are given the very best opportunities to thrive in our happy, carin, Christian ethos so that they can become confident, enthusiastic leaners for life. We pride ourselves on a creative, flexible curriculum which is tailored to excite the children in their learning and develop their knowledge, skills and understanding, ensuring they reach their full potential.

Our Mission Statement is:

  • 'Learning Together for life with Jesus'

We aim to:

  • Work together to promote the Christian ethos of our school

  • Create a happy, friendly, inclusive and caring learning environment

  • Provide all our pupils with access to a broad and balanced curriculum and to develop their full potential

  • Pursue the highest standards of achievements in all areas

  • Praise and acknowledge effort and success

  • To further develop a partnership between pupils, parents, governors, teachers and the wider community
