Meet the Governors

Chair Person / Parent Governor

Mrs V Bennett
My name is Victoria Bennett and I live in Checkley. I have 3 children, 2 of whom have now moved to Middle school and my youngest is in reception. I have been a parent Governor at Hutchinson Memorial since September 2008 and I am currently the Chair. In my role as a governor I help to develop the schools strategic framework and regularly review progress. I also support the headteacher and her staff with their aim of making Hutchinson Memorial the best it can possibly be. I believe every child should have a positive start to their learning journey in an excellent learning environment. As Governors we strive to ensure Hutchinson Memorial continues to provide such a start for its pupils and that every child reaches their full potential.

I joined Hutchinson Memorial CE (A) First School as Headteacher, in September, 2008. I began my teaching career in 1993 in a large Primary School in Staffordshire Moorlands. There I progressed to becoming KS2 Leader and then Deputy Headteacher. I then took up a secondment as Acting Headteacher in a very small Primary, again in Staffordshire Moorlands, before taking on my current role.
I have 2:1 honours Bachelor of Education Degree, which I gained Edge Hill Univeristy and a National Professional Qualification in Headship.

I therefore have a strong relationship with the school and am therefore pleased to serve as a governor.

Having grown up as a child in Checkley, I feel most privileged to now live in the heart of the village. I have become actively involved with community life and support several organisations within the area. Having been a pupil myself in my early years at Hutchinson Memorial, I am truly honored to offer time and commitment as a Foundation Governor at this thriving and enthusiastic school. Since being a member of the Governing body, part of my role is that of the Vice Chair and most recently Link governor to the Badgers Class. I thoroughly enjoy my role in school where I will continue to support and develop the growth, to ensure all pupils flourish in their capabilities and beyond. Long may it continue.
